Detailed Info:
Please arrive by 4pm on Sunday, since we will be leaving for the Ice at Carter Green shortly after. I'll have some pizza for us on our way out the door! Food and beverages are available for purchase at the rink as well.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Having overnight events can be a lot of fun, but I do believe in having and communicating a wise plan. That said, if you would prefer that your student stay the night at home instead, you're welcome to pick them up and drop them in the morning. Please make sure to communicate that in your registration.
We will have a definitive end time to our late-night activities so that we all head to bed at the same time; no one is allowed to head to bed early apart from the rest of the group. Our guys and girls will have sleeping quarters in separate wings of the building (girls will be in the nursery and boys will be in the 2s and 3s room), and each room will have a youth leader in it. My wife and I sleep in the hall between the two areas. In addition to those arrangements, we communicate and abide by the same rules that we use for our other overnight events and retreats:
1. No one-on-ones. Whether students or leaders, there ought never be two people alone away from the group.
2. Change clothes in the privacy of the restroom stalls.
Gift Exchange:
We will maintain our annual white elephant gift exchange tradition on the morning of the 30th. Please limit the purchase price of your gift to $5. You may bring something that is secondhand, or something that is a gag gift, as long as it is not literally worthless or actual garbage :)
We will be making breakfast for Christmas morning, but we will not be serving lunch before the noon pick up.
Please reach out to me (Jordan) with any questions!
