Disc Golf Course
Opportunity Details:
Days of the Week: No Set Day
Role: Behind the Scenes
Praise: It’s Springtime and the grass is growing! That means disc golfers will be out and utilizing the course. The course layout was well done, and everyone enjoys the challenging and technical sections. This course is well known and has great utilization within the community.
Prayer: Currently, I have three individuals signed up for mowing. One additional person would be great. More importantly, we have never (to my knowledge) had a disc golfer attend a service. I’m passionate about developing relationships with these individuals and seeing them come to Christ and being discipled here. This only happens as we have members on the course as well playing and meeting people. I also would like to develop the course more for its natural beauty and providing a bird/butterfly sanctuary. This will then allow for more “nature trail” in the current rough section where we can incorporate more signage that would allow for the gospel to be printed and presented – like what the library does at Hummel Park. Would also like to restart the Master’s Tournament this year.
Current Needs: one additional person to mow. People to play and engage with other disc golfers. Join the Hendricks County Disc Golf Association and get involved meeting these diverse and extraordinary people. I have found that Golfers and Disc Golfers are just about polar opposites. Granted, playing disc golf is free and regular golf is expensive. But when I mow, even when people are playing, they thank me for maintaining the course and want to know how they can help out! It would be great for our church to be more active in meeting people on our own property. Also, any gardeners that could help me transform the course from a field to a “bird/butterfly sanctuary” would be great.
